Three beauty queens attended L-R Sharan Sahota Miss Coventry , Grace Richardson Miss England & Charlotte Grant Miss World England 2025

A special partnership between BOPA, the Miss England contest and Janaki Indian Cuisine in Solihull has raised  £3,500 for the Eknoor Charity Trust orphanage in Amritsar, India, helping to support one of the most memorable causes visited during this year’s Bopa/ Miss England humanitarian tour.

Earlier this year, Miss England Grace Richardson and Miss World England Charlotte Grant travelled to India as part of the annual humanitarian tour organised by BOPA. During their visit, one location left a lasting impression on both titleholders – the Eknoor Charity Trust orphanage in Amritsar.
The charity is well known to the Miss England organisation, having previously been visited by Miss England Director Angie Beasley, former Miss England and Miss World Europe Jessica Gagen, and Dr Bhasha Mukherjee, Miss England 2019, during earlier BOPA humanitarian trips.

Davinder said ” Ms Grace Richardson Miss England 25-26 is one of the most beautiful, kind hearted and talented person to wear crown of Miss England. She won the hearts of people she met during her tour of India and left great impression on the minds of Young girls who were so inspired by her. Everyone now praying for her success in forthcoming Miss World contest in Vietnam”

Reflecting on the visit, Grace spoke about how moved she was by the children’s positivity despite having very little.

“The children had so little compared to what many of us take for granted, yet they were still smiling, happy and full of hope. It was impossible not to be inspired by them.”
Determined to make a difference after returning to the UK, the BOPA and Miss England teams joined forces to organise a fundraising event dedicated to supporting the orphanage.
The event was generously hosted by Janaki Indian Cuisine, whose owner Tarun made the remarkable decision to open the restaurant on the Bank Holiday and served delicious food throughout the evening.
Guests also took part in a charity raffle, with prizes donated by various people  while Miss England Grace Richardson entertained attendees with a live singing performance. Her dad Chris won the cuddly toy in the raffle !

Many guests echoed the sentiment, commenting on both the quality of the cuisine and the warm atmosphere created throughout the evening. As the night progressed, owner Tarun added even more excitement by turning up the music and encouraging everyone onto the dance floor, creating a memorable celebration for a worthy cause.

It’s now been announced by Davinder that, an incredible £3,400 had been raised for the Ek noor Charity Trust .

The funds will be personally delivered later this year by Rakesh Sachdev, Chairman of BOPA and Director of Sachdev Accountants, who is scheduled to visit the orphanage in August 2026 to present the donation and see first-hand the impact the fundraising will have on the children’s lives.
The event demonstrated the power of communities coming together to support those in need and highlighted the continuing commitment of both BOPA and Miss England to humanitarian causes around the world.
From Amritsar to the UK and back again, the smiles that inspired Grace and Charlotte  have now inspired hundreds more people to make a difference.
