FIRST CONTESTANT ENTERS NEWLY RELAUNCHED MISS NORFOLK COMPETITION

A 27-year-old singer, vocal coach and company director from Norwich has been announced as the very first contestant to enter the newly relaunched Miss Norfolk competition.

Amy Morris officially became contestant number one after submitting her entry to the county competition, which will see one young woman crowned Miss Norfolk and go on to represent the county at the prestigious Miss England Grand Final.

The competition, which is being organised by Elise Joy Limited in partnership with Miss England, is open to women aged 17 to 27 living, working or studying within Norfolk.

Speaking in a video shared across the competition’s social media channels, Amy encouraged others to follow in her footsteps and submit an entry.

She said: “I’m very excited to be the very first contestant entering Miss Norfolk. It’s such a beautiful opportunity to showcase everything our beautiful county has to offer.

“I think it’s time to put Norfolk firmly on the map. If you’re a girl aged between 17 and 27, I strongly recommend entering this competition.”

Miss Norfolk marks the return of an official regional pathway into the Miss England competition for young women across the county, providing opportunities to build confidence, develop public speaking skills, support charitable causes and promote Norfolk on a national stage.

Nathan Bryant, Executive Director of Elise Joy Limited, welcomed Amy as the competition’s first entrant.

He said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Amy as the very first contestant to enter Miss Norfolk. Launching a brand-new regional competition is always exciting, but having someone of Amy’s calibre lead the way is fantastic.

“Amy is passionate about Norfolk and already has an impressive background as a singer, vocal coach and businesswoman. She perfectly represents the confidence, ambition and community spirit that we hope to see from contestants throughout this year’s competition.

“Miss Norfolk is about much more than a crown. It’s about empowering young women, providing opportunities, building confidence and creating ambassadors for the county. We cannot wait to meet the many other talented young women Norfolk has to offer.”

Angie Beasley, Director of Miss England on behalf of Miss World, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome the Miss Norfolk contest back into the Miss England family.

“Regional competitions play a vital role in giving young women from every part of the country the chance to compete in England’s longest-running and  respected pageant.

“Amy’s enthusiasm is exactly the kind of passion we love to see. We hope her entry encourages many more young women from across Norfolk to put themselves forward. We look forward to following her journey

“Before Millie Suiter was invited to represent Norfolk after her participation in the Miss England 2025 semi final, the county was last represented  by Natasha Adams, an NHS nurse at Norwich Hospital, who competed in the 2018 Miss England Final.

It’s wonderful to see Miss Norfolk returning, giving another generation of talented young women the opportunity to represent their county and compete for the Miss England crown.”

Entries for Miss Norfolk are now officially open, with organisers encouraging young women aged between 17 and 27 from across the county to apply.

The winner will receive the official Miss Norfolk title and a place in the Miss England Grand Final, where they will compete to become the next Miss England and potentially represent England on the international stage.
