Jessica wore a Mary Poppins inspired outfit for the opening ceremony of Miss World created by Puneet Bhandal 

Since the 71st Miss World Opening Ceremony in New Delhi with 112 contestants at the Ashok hotel ,  the contestants have taken part in a Head to Head round  showcasing Beauty with a Purpose Projects in the Summit room Bharat Mandapam Delhi &  a  Sports Challenge at the National stadium New Delhi.

Jessica Gagen, an aerospace engineer and the reigning Miss England reached both shortlists and was delighted to be one of 5 winners in the Head to Head Challenge !

Twenty five beauty with a purpose projects were selected by the judges who are all pictured here ,  our very own Miss England was proudly one of the shortlist of 25 to speak at the Summit in New Delhi.

(source Miss World)  In a riveting showcase of intellect, compassion, and purpose, the 112 contestants of the 71st edition of the Miss World passionately spoke about one of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in the head-to-head challenge at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi

Jessica spoke passionately about the effects of Climate Change & promoted her #stemschooltalks encouraging more women to follow careers in Science technology Engineering and maths in a bid to save the planet, something she has been doing in England since she won the title.

Of these, 25 exceptional young women were shortlisted for the finale of the round.

Following the thought-provoking presentations, the participants from Lebanon, Yasmina    Zaytoun, England, Jessica Ashley, Nigeria, Ada Eme, Zimbabwe, Nokutenda Shekinah Marumbwa, and Botswana, Lesego Chombo, emerged as the winners based on their scores, reflecting the depth of talent and commitment among the participants.

In the Sports Challenge Jessica came 2nd in the Beep Test and was on the winning team .

Miss Croatia won the Sports Challenge!

For reaching the final 5 in the Head to Head Challenge , Jessica is already fast tracked through to the top 40 in Mumbai !  

The busy contestants have since been flown to MUMBAI and are now looking forward to the Top Model & Beauty with a Purpose charity ball , both key elements of the competition. Since arriving in the City of Dreams Mumbai the 112 participants were excited to take part  the SAVE THE TIGER campaign created by Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar to all across the planet!
