Meet “Beauty with a Purpose” the new HORSE at the Mid Derbyshire Riding school for the Disabled – thanks to Miss England contestants!

 

On Saturday 10th November 2018, Jane McKay – Chairman of Mid Derbyshire Riding for the Disabled (RDA) – introduced “Beauty with a Purpose”  the newest horse at the school!

 

The 7year old horse was purchased with funds raised by Miss England contestants. Equipment for the school is also being funded to enable disabled riders enjoy their time at the school.

” On behalf of the Mid Derbyshire Riding for the Disabled group, may I thank the Miss England contestants for fundraising through “Beauty with a Purpose” & the Miss World Charity for this wonderful donation. This donation will make an immense difference to our group and in particular the riders and families who benefit from riding.  The donation will enable us to continue what we do and make improvements to the facilities we provide.  Our aim in simple terms is to provide the opportunity of riding to disabled people who might get the benefit from riding. On behalf of Mid Derbyshire RDA may I express our gratitude for this extremely generous donation as this ensures that we can continue what we all love to do.”

 

Invited to this special announcement was Milly Everatt Miss Lincolnshire, a farmers daughter –who is also the top fundraiser and Miss Premier Ceylon in the Miss England finals . and  Stephanie Hill the reigning Miss United Kingdom. Both Milly & Stephanie are both keen equestrians themselves.

 

Milly raised over £5,657.50 (with gift aid) for the charity by Sky Diving , bag packing in local supermarkets and bake sales and holding a Disney themed party where Milly dressed up as the Sleeping Beauty .

 

Director of the Miss England contest Angie Beasley said “ Its fantastic to see funds raised by Miss England contestants being used in such a positive way, thank you to all those who made this happen” .

 

The reigning Miss World “Manushi Chillar” from India announced that Beauty with a Purpose where funding the school at the Miss England finals Part 1 at Resorts World Birmingham in July .

 

Alisha Cowie, (19)  the new Miss England is participating in the 2018 finals of Miss World in Sanya China . The winner will be crowned on December 8th 2018 who will then become a global ambassador for Beauty with a Purpose.
