The award that made headlines around the world returns for the Miss England 2026 Grand Final!
In 2019, Miss England made history by becoming the first beauty pageant in the world to introduce a make-up-free round, challenging traditional beauty standards and causing a media sensation across the globe.
This round is now one of the qualifiers which will fast track one make up free winner through to the final 12 on the final night after all finalists compete in a series of make up free challenges on social media and on the catwalk!
The revolutionary Bare Face Award was introduced by Miss England organiser Angie Beasley, who had become increasingly concerned about the number of heavily made-up and filtered photographs being submitted by contestants.
Angie explained:
“We were receiving so many photographs of contestants wearing layers of make-up and using filters that I felt it was time to bring natural beauty back into the competition. I wanted young women to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, without feeling they had to hide behind make-up or filters.”
Seven years later, the Bare Face Award remains one of Miss England’s most talked-about and empowering rounds, encouraging contestants to embrace their natural appearance and celebrate individuality.

THE ONE CLINIC JOINS MISS ENGLAND 2026
This year, the famous award is being held in association with The One Clinic, a team of Fully qualified, GMC-registered, and trained doctors bringing over 45 years of combined experience who will judge the Bare Face round on the day of the Miss England Grand Final at the Athena Leicester.
In a first for the competition, the finalists will begin their Grand Final day by walking the catwalk completely make-up-free in front of the judges**.
The special catwalk takes place on the morning of Tuesday 17th November 2026 at Athena Leicester, before the glamorous evening final.
The winner of the Bare Face Award will be fast-tracked into the Miss England Top 12, bringing her one step closer to the national crown and the opportunity to represent England at Miss World 2027.
The round celebrates healthy skin, self-confidence and the courage to be yourself in a world increasingly dominated by social media filters and unrealistic beauty expectations.
