“It’s been a privilege to share my story and the mental health tools that have helped me along the way with the Year 12’s and 13’s students across Yorkshire, alongside MIND in Harrogate.

My own journey with mental health began when I was just 16, after being sectioned due to experiencing psychosis on and off for eight months, eventually leading to a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Looking back, I now understand how powerful it is to talk openly about mental health. That’s why I feel deeply connected when I speak to teens who may be facing any challenges. It feels as though I’m speaking to a younger version of myself—the girl who was silently crying out for help.

It’s incredibly important to remind young people that there are always tools and support available, even when it feels difficult to see them. I truly believe that no matter how tough things get, there is always a way forward.

If you’re going through a tough time, please remember—with time, everything gets easier. You are never alone, and there is always support out there. MIND in Harrogate is an incredible global organization that can guide you through challenging moments. I’ve been volunteering with MIND in Harrogate since being crowned Miss Yorkshire in 2023, and I’m incredibly proud to offer my support where I can. Please, always reach out for help. There is real strength and power in asking for support.
