Charlotte Grant from Kirkby, who recently took the crown as Miss Liverpool City Region, soared to new heights by becoming the first runner-up at Miss England 2024 sponsored by Watermans Hair.

 

Known for resilience and charity work, Charlotte’s journey from overcoming a severe back injury as a child to launching her own beauty business is nothing short of inspirational. Her remarkable performance at Miss England 2024, held in the Grand Station Wolverhampton and sponsored by Watermans, solidified her status as a rising star in the beauty pageant world. She captured the hearts of many and proved that determination and grace truly shine through.

Charlotte is continuing significant impact beyond her crown. As the founder of Charlotte Grant Cosmetics, she is committed to challenging beauty norms and promoting inclusivity. Her cosmetics company offers products that cater to a diverse range, including false eyelashes available in ginger, brown, blonde, white, and many more shades. Charlotte aims to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness and feel confident in their own skin. Her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to inclusivity played a significant role in her journey throughout the Miss England competition.

As part of her Miss England journey, Charlotte hosted many heartwarming events bringing joy and connection to those around her, all contributing to her Miss England campaign and raising money for Balls to Cancer, the chosen recipients of funds raised by Miss England finalists.

 

Charlotte’s commitment to her local community was beautifully showcased at the Northwood Community Centre (NCCA), where she organized a special day for the elderly residents. Featuring bingo and a raffle, where lucky winner Pat won a hamper Charlottes interaction with the residents, left a lasting impression.

 

Through the generosity of attendees and supporters, Charlotte also raised more funds for Balls to Cancer. This event not only brought happiness to the elderly but also contributed to Charlotte’s Beauty with a Purpose project, a critical component of the Miss England competition. Continuing her mission to spread joy, Charlotte visited Stocks Hall Nursing Home, bringing smiles to the faces of residents. The day was filled with laughter, dancing, and even a catwalk runway which residents showcased their styles wearing Charlotte sash and crown!

 

Charlotte’s dedication to making a difference is further highlighted by her fundraising efforts raising £1,500 through an abseil off Anfield (Liverpool football club) with a match donation bringing the total to £3,000.

Additionally, she hosted a tea and coffee morning in Portobello, Ormskirk, with all tea and coffee donated and cakes provided by Laura’s Bakery Ormskirk and Sweet Dreams Bakery Huyton, raising £400. The event featured a raffle with generous prizes donated by local businesses, including B&Q, Ormskirk Market, Billy Wiz, Clock Tower Exchange, Green Room, Nordico, Everyman Playhouse, Quirky Quarter, Duman, Hairport, and Kas Social.

A charity DJ event followed from 6pm till 2am, featuring seven local DJs: Scarlet, Joe Rigby, Em Rainbird, Sonny Beyga, Mollie, Adam Foxcroft, and Ben Maxwell. This event highlighted her ability to bring people together through music and entertainment, raising another £600 for Balls to Cancer.

Charlotte also hosted a last-minute event at PureGym Kirkby, raising an incredible £100 in two hours.

She extended her thanks to Jake Bedford for helping host a competition to raise extra funds the day before the Miss England final bringing her final Beauty with a purpose (Balls to cancer) total to £7,130 securing first place and gaining the top fundraiser 2024 sash.

Not only did Charlotte raise significant funds, she also raised important awareness among attendees about the Balls to Cancer campaign, providing valuable information, booklets, and advice.

Miss Liverpool Charlotte Grant is not just a beauty queen  but a beacon of hope, compassion, and community spirit. Through her tireless efforts to raise awareness for the NCCA, serve the elderly community, and challenge beauty norms.

Charlotte also demonstrated her commitment to other charitable causes by supporting the FC St Helens official charity match. As Miss Liverpool City Region, Charlotte played a vital role in assisting Dave Sarge and AB UK in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for autism. The event, which featured a match between Sports Stars and Hollyoaks, was a testament to her dedication to making a positive impact in the community, raising over £10,000 on the night.

In the We Do Ethical round, Charlotte worked with Taya from Sevens Streets transforming her mum’s wedding dress into a stunning 1920s-themed outfit.  Their creativity earned them an impressive second place, reflecting ability to blend sustainability with style completing the challenge’s brief perfectly again reaching first runner up position in Miss Englands Ethical fashion round..

Charlotte’s athletic ability was fully displayed during the sports round, held in the Heart of England and organized by former Royal Marine Lee Stuart. ( pictured above)  Competing fiercely, she secured second place in this intense and demanding segment of the competition.

Culminating her efforts, Charlotte was delighted to be named First runner-up of Miss England 2024. Whilst Milla Magee from Newquay was crowned Miss England, Charlotte expressed immense pride and joy for her fellow contestant, celebrating Milla as a friend for life & she will be cheering her on in the 72nd Miss World final.

Charlotte’s achievements at Miss England are a testament to her multifaceted talents and dedication. Her journey underscores the pageant’s ethos of being more than a beauty contest, celebrating women who are passionate about their causes, demonstrate creativity, and show resilience in various challenges. Her contributions to the Beauty with a Purpose project, her innovative approach in the We Do Ethical round, and her strength in the sports round all illustrate her exceptional abilities and commitment.

Charlotte Grant is set to leave a lasting legacy as Miss Liverpool 2024, alongside a significant impact in the Miss England competition. Her journey exemplifies how beauty pageants can be a powerful platform for social change, community service, and personal growth. With her heart and crown firmly in place, Charlotte continues to inspire and impact her community positively proving that true beauty lies within.

Since the Miss England 2024 national final , Charlotte & the second runner up Melissa Butcher have both been invited to participate in the Miss Cosmo International contest in Vietnam which takes place between 15th September – 6th October  2024.

The Miss Cosmo International is a prestigious beauty pageant that celebrates the beauty, talent, and intelligence of women from around the world. The pageant aims to empower women and promote diversity and inclusion in the beauty industry.

Each year, one lucky woman is crowned Miss Cosmo International and receives a host of prizes, including a cash prize, a modeling contract, and the opportunity to represent the pageant at various events around the world. The winner also becomes an ambassador for various charitable organizations and causes supported by Miss Cosmo International.
