It’s been two years since a Miss England winner had a comfy stay at the Holiday Inn Express Southwark, and we’re pleased to say it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Ahead of the recent Miss England Award Winners photoshoot in London with CitySightseeingLondon , Cocomoola & vintage fashion designer Stuart Trevor , the reigning Miss England Grace Richardson checked into the hotel for an overnight stay before a busy day of filming and photography around some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks.

Located in the heart of London’s vibrant South Bank area, the Holiday Inn Express Southwark is perfectly positioned for visitors looking to explore the city. Just a short walk away are attractions including the Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Borough Market, The Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral and the famous River Thames walkway.

Friendly reception team at check in and check out !

After arriving later on the Friday evening after a busy day, check-in was swift and efficient, with the friendly reception team making us feel welcome immediately. The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment since our last visit, and the improvements were instantly noticeable.

Lovely comfy bed

Fab roomy shower!

Our rooms which were located on the sixth floor was modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable, featuring everything needed for a relaxing stay.

The comfortable bed with comfy pillows ensured a great night’s sleep , while the powerful shower was just what we needed before the photoshoot the following morning.

The room also featured a large, easy-to-operate television, tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of fluffy towels and all the modern conveniences expected by today’s busy travellers.

A particularly thoughtful touch was the wonderful welcome arranged for Miss England Grace Richardson. On arrival at her room, she was greeted with balloons, flowers and a bottle of wine waiting in the room, creating a memorable and warm welcome after a long journey. These little touches prove how personal and welcoming this hotel is despite being quite busy with other guests.

After dropping off our bags, two of us wanted something quick to eat and headed across the road to So Noodle Bar opposite the hotel , just a two-minute walk from reception. The restaurant offered a fantastic choice of dishes, and after enjoying a delicious meal we returned to the hotel feeling full, content and ready for a good night’s rest.

The day began with the hotel’s all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. There was an excellent selection available, including hot breakfast items, pastries, cereals, fruit, juices and hot drinks—something to suit every taste and a great way to start a busy day in London.

What stood out most throughout our stay was the friendly and accommodating staff. Combined with the hotel’s clean, modern facilities, comfortable rooms and budget-friendly prices, it offers excellent value in one of London’s most sought-after locations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Southwark and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future, in fact we are already looking at re-booking this summer !

Thank you to the team for looking after Miss England so well—we look forward to visiting again soon.
