Elite Smile Studio, the official dental partner of Miss Newcastle 2026, recently welcomed all of this year’s semi-finalists to its Gosforth practice for a professional dental check-up.
Following the appointments, practice owner Dr Nitam Narkhede selected ten contestants to advance to the Elite Smile Studio public vote. Lauren Hanlon was crowned the winner after securing more than 60% of the final vote, earning her place in the Miss Newcastle Grand Final at the Boiler Shop on 27th September.
Lauren has enjoyed an exceptional journey through the competition, also winning the overall Public Vote heat and the Talent Round with her singing. Lauren, who is autistic, has openly shared how singing helps her to manage her anxiety and express herself.
Her advocacy focuses on anxiety and depression, inspired by her own experiences. Through the message, “There is always another chapter worth fighting for,” Lauren hopes to remind others that their struggles do not define them, asking for help is a sign of strength and there is always hope for a way forward.
