Miss Manchester Victoria Quinlan, (27) a professional dog groomer has powered her way into the Top 12 of the Miss England Grand Final after winning the official Sports Round at Leicester City Training Ground on Saturday 27th September sponsored by Nutty Nest a healthy new breakfast spread with argan oil just launching in the UK.
Twenty contestants from the semi and national finals opted in for the toughest round in the contest which tests the contestants physical strength .
Local PT Andy Osborne from CrossFit Leicester led the one-hour training challenge which produced the fittest girl in this years competition . The optional round included intense training with the PT on the pitch before 15 contestants were eliminated .
The top 5 then went head to head in a final who were ;
L-R Jade Ferriday (25) from Telford , Modelle Hughes (21) Miss Cheshire , Grace Pronger (23) from Dartford , Evanjelin Elchmanar (24) Birmingham & Victoria Quinlan (27) from Manchester .
But in a dramatic twist, two fellow finalists left very disappointed. Local favourite & double title holder Grace Richardson (20) the reigning Miss Leicestershire & newly crowned Miss East Midlands is a dancer and performer . Before the Sports round had even started she was already sidelined with a foot injury that happened days earlier–, only for Miss North Yorkshire Harriet Jeffrey (21) a car sales executive from York suffered a similar injury mid-round the Miss England Sportsround when just minutes before she was taking the lead!
“Harriet was doing incredibly well in the sports round , it’s a such shame she injured herself and had to step out of the sports round. said Miss England Director Angie Beasley . Ironically just days before the girls had met in another Miss England qualifier and Grace was already in her boot. Now it looks like Harriet is going down the same path with her injury she’s still very sore. We wish her all the best on her recovery” said Angie
Both Grace and Harriett are expected to recover in time for the Miss England Grand Final, on November 21st having already qualified for the final by winning their county titles.
Meanwhile Miss Manchester Victoria Quinlan is heading for the top 12 in the Miss England National Final.
The Miss England Semi Final will take place on Friday 3rd October at The Grand Station, Wolverhampton where remaining winners will be selected by a judging panel to join the big city and county winners so far …
