SPORTS CHAMPIONS CROWNED AHEAD OF MELTON EVENT

Excitement is already building following the Miss & Mr England Sportsround, which took place in Leicester on Sunday 4th October.

After being put through a series of physical and mental challenges, Sam Briffa, 31, from Hull, was crowned Mr England Sportsman 2026, while Abbey Lavenyia, 26, from Croydon, took the Miss England Sportswoman 2026 title.

The Sportsround was led by fitness expert Rob Hughes of Hughes Total Fitness, with the deciding challenge conducted by Mel Thomas QPM, the High Sheriff of Leicestershire, who is also attending the Melton Theatre event as a co-host.

In a Traitors-style final round , the contestants were tested on both their physical ability and mental agility in a competition designed to challenge their determination, focus, energy and team spirit.

Their victories have given both contestants an important boost ahead of the next stages of the competitions. Abbey has been fast-tracked into the Top 12 of the Miss England National Final in November, while Sam is guaranteed a place in the final three of Mr England at Melton Theatre. Can Sam win ? The judges have to agree

The event will feature Ethical Fashion following a brief by wedoethical.org, a longstanding part of Miss England which encourages contestants to think creatively and sustainably about what they wear. This year, the contestants will use the round to showcase their female icons through sustainable fashion.

The Ethical Fashion round was first introduced by Miss England Director Angie Beasley in 2007, and Angie was recently interviewed by the BBC about the round and its place in the modern Miss England competition.

Contestants will also have the opportunity to showcase their Talent, while their charitable efforts through Beauty With A Purpose, the Miss World charity, will highlight the fundraising and community projects they have supported.

MR ENGLAND FINAL
