Kingsguard and reigning Mr England, Manuel Alcantara Turner, has a foot in both camps when it comes to international football – born and raised in Spain to a Spanish father and English mother, Manuel lived in Spain until he was 8 before moving to Newcastle Upon Tyne. He then joined the British army at 16 with his brother where he now serves in the Cold stream Guards.

With his dad’s side of the family still living in Spain, Manuel visits regularly and says football matches between England and Spain always stir up a little family rivalry!

“I love playing and watching football – it’s by far my favourite sport, so of course I’ll be watching on Sunday,” said Manuel.

“Games like these turn into a mini family battle with my Spanish side always backing Spain and my English side cheering on England! But I’m siding with the Lionesses like always. I’m so proud of how well they do every single tournament and I know they can bring football home – where it belongs!”

As the excitement builds for this weekend’s showdown, Manuel has one clear message:

“Good luck Lionesses! The entire country is behind you – you’ve done incredibly well so far, but now it’s time to bring football home!”
