STATEMENTS REGARDING ENGLANDS ENTRY TO THE 72ND MISS WORLD

The winner of the Miss England 2024 event  “Milla Magee”, from Newquay, Cornwall, has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the 72nd Miss World  competition due to personal reasons. The Miss World festival which started on the 7th May is scheduled to hold its final on 31st May with 112 countries from across the world taking part. 

Angie Beasley, Director of Miss England since 2002, said “We regret to announce that Milla Magee has returned home to the UK due to personal reasons. We stand fully by her decision – health must always come first.” Angie continued; “Milla has shown tremendous dedication over the past year to her role as Miss England particularly through her Miss World Beauty with a Purpose project, ‘Go Far with CPR’ which she had hoped to showcase next week. We, alongside the Miss World Organisation, are incredibly proud of what she has accomplished,” &  “we will continue to highlight her project throughout her reign as Miss England.”

Milla Magee said ” I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from Miss World for personal reasons. Taking part in the first part of Miss World in India was an unforgettable experience, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Your encouragement has meant the world to me. I wish the remaining contestants the very best of luck as they continue their incredible journeys. My commitment to my project, GoFarwithCPR, remains stronger than ever. I will continue working to ensure this vital life-saving skill is taught across England and beyond, empowering individuals and communities through education and awareness.”

During her time at Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad India, Milla took part in a range of events.

including the spectacular Opening Ceremony, where she proudly wore a bespoke Edwardian-inspired outfit themed on My Fair Lady, created by the talented designers at MyDasma. The same team had also designed her custom made evening gown she planned to wear for the grand final on the 31st May,

As per the official protocol, first runner-up in Miss England 24 Charlotte Grant, the reigning Miss Liverpool City Region, has been invited to represent England in the Miss World final.

Charlotte with Susan Bates from the Balls to Cancer Charity , Charlotte became the top fundraiser at Miss England 2024 after raising over £7,000 for the charity .

Charlotte became the top fundraiser for the Balls to Cancer charity at the Miss England 2024 final which she intends to highlight her fundraising work in Liverpool during her participation in Miss World.
