Teenager crowned a Charity Queen wearing a Visor by an NHS Doctor!

Jennifer Carless from Market Weighton York has been nominated as a Miss England Finalist after being the top fundraiser for the ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ charity in a virtual Miss England Semi Final contest.

Jennifer is now set to take part in the next Miss England final after being presented with her tiara & sash from the reigning Miss England NHS Doctor Bhasha Mukherjee who works at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Both Jennifer & Bhasha wore beautiful evening gowns from ‘To The Nines Boutique’, the official Eveningwear partner for the special crowning held as a socially distanced Photoshoot with other 3 Finalists.

Jennifer who only recently turned 16 took part in a Miss England Virtual semi-final contest held as a Livestream event at the end of July.

During lockdown Contestants were invited to submit 3 videos of themselves, an introduction, a catwalk and an optional talent video.

Also contestants were encouraged to compete in a charity fundraising contest for ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ and create an ethical fashion outfit with the theme #wearitgreen from recycled materials.

Jennifer raised over £1600 overall for various charities, with £1395 for the ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ charity alone, through raffles, an online horse show together with donations from the public.

3 Judges appeared via zoom from across England alongside a socially distanced judging panel of 3 Miss England winners who then selected the Finalists.

Jennifer is sponsored by Sue Stone of the ‘Sue Stone Foundation’ and has received gifts including Hair products Indola UK & Skincare products from Cetuem.

“Jennifer is clearly a very charitable young lady after raising so much money in a difficult time.  Jennifer has since taken on the role as a Yorkshire Ambassador for WASUP (World Against Single Use Plastic) and recently met the Lord Mayor with her campaign. We are proud to have Jennifer in the national final” said Miss England Director Angie Beasley.

The contest constantly promotes its ethos “More than just a pretty face with
the charity ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ which helps disadvantaged youngsters across the world.

The winner of Miss England is set to represent the country in the 70th Miss World Final held in the Autumn of 2021. The contest recently postponed their international final due to go ahead in December due to the pandemic . Organisers are releasing news of the date of Miss England final next Month .
