Celebrating Natural Beauty: Midlands Hosts First-Ever MakeupFree Miss England auditions

In a bold move to promote self-confidence and redefine beauty standards, The Grand Station in Wolverhampton will host the Midlands’ first-ever MakeupFree auditions and motivational talk — a unique event aimed at empowering women  to embrace their natural selves.

This special event is part of the Miss England “Bare Face” movement, and serves as a call to action for natural beauty queens from Birmingham and Wolverhampton & the whole of the midlands to step forward as potential candidates for this year’s Miss England competition.

A Movement That Redefines Beauty

Spearheaded by Angie Beasley , the founder of the Miss England Bare Face round — first introduced in 2019 — this movement encourages young people to post makeupfree images on social media and take pride in their natural appearance.

“The main reason for introducing this round into Miss England was to empower young people to post natural pictures of themselves makeupfree on social media. Over the past five years, I’ve seen the positive impact this round has had, and I want that message to spread even further by promoting this round more in the midlands .”

Miss England Hosts Make-Up Free Auditions in the Midlands to Celebrate Natural Beauty

Wolverhampton, UK –

Miss England is calling for aspiring beauty queens from across the Midlands to enter the next phase of the competition –

make-up free.

If you live, work or study in the Midlands, are aged between 16–27, and want to be part of the prestigious Miss England competition, don’t miss your chance to attend the make-up free auditions at Grand Station, Wolverhampton on 7th September.

To apply, simply send a recent snapshot of yourself — ideally make-up free or wearing minimal make-up — to info@missengland.info or complete the application form at www.missengland.info.

Selected applicants will be invited to audition for the next Miss England Championships, with the semi-final scheduled for October. Contestants will also have the chance to be crowned with a regional title representing their area.

“We feel it’s so important to promote natural beauty amongst women, especially on social media,” said Angie Beasley, Miss England Director since 2002.

Angie introduced the make-up free round in 2019 after noticing a rise in heavily filtered and overly made-up images, with some contestants looking unrecognisable in person.

special presentation will take place at 2pm on the day of the auditions to encourage attendees to embrace their natural selves and build confidence from within.

Guest speakers include Afrose Ameen, last year’s Bare Face Award winner and a law student from London, who will share her inspiring journey of self-acceptance & Angie Beasley founder of the round from Miss England.
