Behind the sparkle of the Miss England stage lies a world of dedicated people who help create the
magic of the grand final.
Among them is Kam Bahra, the talented baker whose beautiful cakes have become a cherished feature of the Miss England celebrations in since 2021 and the Mr England Final in 2024.

Kam’s passion for baking began at the young age of just 11 years old. Growing up in a vegetarian family in the 1980s, finding desserts that did not contain eggs was extremely difficult. Rather than going without sweet treats, Kam decided to take matters into her own hands and begin baking her own cakes.
Her early attempts were far from perfect. Trying to find substitutes for eggs proved challenging, and many of her first cakes were not exactly edible. However, Kam credits her father for encouraging her to persevere. He continually told her to keep trying and never give up, advice that would ultimately shape her future.
With determination and practice, Kam’s baking steadily improved. Before long, even her school teachers were requesting cakes and treats, asking her during lunch breaks to bake something for them to take home.

Her growing talent led her to begin teaching adult evening classes in baking and cake decorating at Crown Hills College in Leicester, sharing her knowledge and passion with others who wanted to learn the craft.
In 2019, Kam officially launched her own baking business, Kreative Bakes, just before the world went into lockdown during the Covid pandemic. Despite the challenging timing, her creativity, dedication and skill allowed the business to flourish.
It was through teaching classes at The Sanctuary Workshops a Victorian church in Leicester , where she hired the venue to run baking and cake decorating sessions for both adults and children, that Kam met Miss England director Angie Beasley.
Their meeting would lead to a sweet new chapter in Kam’s story.
Kam was delighted when Angie invited her to bake cakes for the Miss England competition in 2021. The opportunity was both exciting and unexpected, and Kam couldn’t wait to get started.
Since then, Kam has become the baker behind  the cakes produced for Miss & Mr England events, creating beautiful and delicious centrepieces that add an extra touch of celebration to the competition.

Her work varies from day to day, with no two cakes ever the same. While she enjoys making all kinds of creations, Kam says her cream sponge cakes have become something of a speciality, loved by many who have tasted them. At the same time, she particularly enjoys creating novelty cakes, as each design is unique and allows her creativity to shine.
Being part of the Miss England journey has been a huge honour for Kam. Each year she approaches the task with the same excitement and enthusiasm as the first time she was starting witeh obtaining the list of finalists and the colour of the dress  she is wearing for the Miss England final!

For Kam, baking is not simply a business — it is a lifelong passion that began with a young girl determined to create desserts her family could enjoy. Today, that passion continues to bring joy to contestants, organisers and guests at one of the UK’s most prestigious beauty competitions.
Kam Bahra’s First Eggless Cake Recipe
Kam’s early experiments in baking eventually led to the creation of her first successful eggless cake recipe:
Ingredients
8 oz flour
4 oz sugar
4 oz butter or vegan margarine
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
200 ml milk or oat milk
Method
Mix the ingredients together to form a smooth batter. Bake at Gas Mark 4 (180°C) until the cake is golden and cooked through.
A simple recipe — but the start of a journey that would one day lead Kam Bahra to become Miss England’s very own baker.
