Evanjelin – became Miss Birmingham !
Our Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing and Media Make-up students from Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) were given an extraordinary opportunity to support the Miss England 2025 competition this year, gaining hands-on experience working behind the scenes at two prestigious events. The students attended the Liverpool heats, held at the stunning Bentley Building, and the Semi-Finals at the elegant Grand Station in Wolverhampton.
Throughout both events, the students showcased exceptional professionalism, creativity, and technical skill. They were responsible for completing contestants’ hair and make-up looks, providing essential touch-ups, and ensuring every participant looked their absolute best for rehearsals, photography, and live stage appearances. Working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment gave them invaluable insight into the realities of backstage life in the beauty and fashion industry.

Media Make-up Tutor Aimee Foster quoted
“Our students approached the experience with incredible enthusiasm and professionalism. Working on such a prestigious event really helped them understand the expectations of the industry — from time management and teamwork to the artistry and adaptability required under pressure. We’re so proud of how they represented the college and the standard of work they achieved.”
Level 3 Media Make-up student Lily Grace Hart, who worked on the Semi-Finals, added:
“It was amazing to be part of such a high-profile event. I learned so much about working quickly and confidently in a professional setting. Seeing the contestants step out on stage looking beautiful and knowing I contributed to that was such a rewarding experience.”
This opportunity has inspired many of the students to continue pursuing careers in editorial, fashion, and theatrical make-up artistry. NSCG is extremely proud of their dedication, creativity, and the professional standards they demonstrated throughout the Miss England competition.
The Miss England Organiser Angie Beasley would like to say a big thank you to all the students for taking their time to be part of the Miss England semi finals and making the contestants and team look glamorous for the stage !
