On a powerful day of connection and compassion, Miss Leicestershire 2024, Grace
Richardson, met Miss World, Opal Suchata, during a visit to Coventry. Embracing the spirit
of authenticity and empowerment, Grace attended the event completely makeup free — a
bold statement in support of the Bare Face round in Miss England, which celebrates inner
beauty and self-confidence.
The two titleholders came together at the iconic Peace Pole in Coventry before visiting the
Young Carers Trust, where they met with inspiring young people who balance care-giving
responsibilities with their own dreams and ambitions. Their shared message was clear:
women supporting women, and beauty defined by purpose, not perfection.
“This is what true empowerment looks like,” said Grace. “Going makeup free today was
about more than appearances — it was about being real, being proud, and showing young
women that they are enough, exactly as they are.”
The visit was part of the wider Beauty with a Purpose mission — the charitable arm of Miss
World that focuses on impactful social projects across the globe. Both Grace and Opal
used the opportunity to highlight the importance of compassion, community, and using
their platforms to uplift others.
Their meeting in Coventry marked a heartfelt reminder that beauty is not just skin deep —
it’s found in acts of kindness, shared purpose, and the courage to show up authentically.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the incredible BOPA team and Sharan, A Miss England Semi- Finalist, for bringing everyone together and making the day so meaningful. Their dedication to creating opportunities for connection, empowerment, and community impact was felt by all — and played a key role in the success of this inspiring event.
