In a world often obsessed with perfection, where societal standards dictate beauty and success, 23-year-old Mehak Chandel stands as a testament to the power of embracing imperfections and championing inclusivity!

With a rich tapestry of experiences ranging from academia to the glitzy world of fashion, she embodies the spirit of compassion and unwavering determination.

With a desire to understand the complexities of society and its injustices, Mehak pursued a degree in criminology, delving into the intricate web of crime and its socio-economic roots. Yet, it was not merely an academic pursuit; it was a quest to implement meaningful change in a world full of inequality and discrimination. Through her studies, she became acutely aware of the systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities, spurring her into action.

Fuelled by a passion for social justice, Mehak dedicated her time to volunteering at a charity working with refugees. Immersed in the day-to-day struggles of displaced individuals, she witnessed firsthand the harrowing realities of those left behind by society. It was here, amidst the resilience and tenacity of refugees, that she found her calling—to bridge the gap in mental health care for those often overlooked by traditional systems.

With a focus on communities of colour, children, women, refugees, and the LGBTQ+ community, Mehak hopes to create safe spaces where individuals can seek support without fear of judgment or discrimination. Drawing from her experiences as a volunteer and her studies in criminology, she understood the importance of addressing not just the symptoms but the root causes of mental health issues, advocating for holistic, culturally sensitive approaches to care.

As Mehak embarks on her journey towards becoming a qualified psychologist, she carries with her the values of inclusivity, diversity, and compassion that have guided her every step of the way. Through her platform as a Miss England Finalist, she intends to amplify these values, advocating for a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Alongside, as a model, she saw an opportunity to challenge the status quo, to redefine beauty standards, and to amplify the voices of those whose stories often go unheard. Collaborating with brands and individuals who shared her vision, she sought to dismantle the narrow confines of beauty standards, advocating for a more inclusive representation in the fashion world. Through her platform, she aims to empower individuals, especially young people grappling with issues like acne and hyperpigmentation, to embrace their uniqueness and celebrate their flaws.

In a society that often prioritizes perfection, Mehak reminds us that true beauty lies in embracing our imperfections and celebrating our differences. With unwavering determination, she continues to pave the way for a more inclusive and accepting world—one where every individual is empowered to embrace their uniqueness and shine brightly, “flaws” and all.

Mehak will be competing in the Miss England grand final on May 17th at the Grand Station Wolverhampton sponsored by Watermans Hair .
