Celebrating Vietnam’s 80th Anniversary & 15 Years of Vietnam–UK Strategic Partnership

On Tuesday 17th September 2025, the reigning Miss World England, Charlotte Grant, attended a prestigious celebration at the London Hilton, Park Lane, marking two historic milestones: the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam (1945–2025) and the 15th Anniversary of the Vietnam–UK Strategic Partnership.

The evening welcomed hundreds of distinguished VIP guests who came together to honour the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Guests were treated to a breathtaking exhibition of artwork by renowned Vietnamese artist Xeo Chu.

 Adding to the cultural celebration, both Miss England Director Angie Beasley and Miss World England Charlotte Grant were specially invited to wear the Ao Dai – Vietnam’s traditional dress – custom-made using Xeo Chu’s artwork. Each piece was designed and tailored by the artist’s proud mother, making the experience even more meaningful.

The evening began with a welcoming drinks reception, accompanied by beautiful performances from a London string quartet. Guests then gathered for speeches, including an inspiring address by H.E. Mr Do Minh Hung, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, who spoke passionately about the strong ties and shared pride in the Vietnam–UK relationship.

Following the speeches, guests enjoyed a delicious Vietnamese themed buffet and plenty of opportunities to network and celebrate.

Already having a special Connection with Vietnam, Charlotte Grant was invited to the event following her  three-week visit to Vietnam earlier in September 2024 with the Miss Cosmo delegation.

Reflecting on her journey, Charlotte said:

 “I had the most incredible time touring Vietnam. The warm hospitality and the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes were like a dream. We visited some of the country’s most remarkable sights, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity.”

Angie  added:

 “Thank you to Tu Anh Dang for inviting Charlotte and myself to this memorable evening. It was such an honour to wear the elegant Ao Dai costume  especially with it featuring Xeo Chu’s artwork. I was really impressed to hear it was make by his mother! It was made to measure, fitted perfectly, and we both wore it with pride. Thank you.”

The evening was a true celebration of heritage, art, and international friendship, perfectly blending the elegance of Vietnamese culture with the shared respect between Vietnam and the UK.
