Bournemouth’s very own rising star Jasmine Vinod, aged 18, has been crowned Miss Dorset 2025, securing her place in the Miss England National Final following an unforgettable semi-final at The Grand Station, Wolverhampton, on Friday 3rd October.

Forty inspiring contestants from across the country competed in rounds that celebrated not just outer beauty, but purpose, creativity and passion. Including Sports, Bare Face (make-up free), Talent, Public Vote, Ethical Fashion and Beauty with a Purpose.

For Jasmine, this win is more than a title, it’s a story of determination and self-belief. After reaching the semi-finals last year and narrowly missing out on the final, she returned stronger than ever. Her big break came when Kelly Levell, founder of We Do Ethical and Miss England’s South West Regional Director, spotted Jasmine’s Instagram singing video and instantly recognised her talent. Impressed by her charisma and voice, Kelly encouraged her to enter the Talent Round, where Jasmine dazzled judges with her performance.

Alongside her title win, Jasmine also achieved second place in the We Do Ethical Queen Award, a round celebrating 1950s-inspired sustainable fashion. She wowed judges by designing two stunning upcycled outfits, showing extraordinary creativity and attention to detail. Her vintage video entry blended acting, dance, and storytelling, inspiring others to embrace sustainability and vintage style with flair.

Jasmine said:

“I’m still pinching myself! It’s such an honour to represent Dorset, the place I’ve called home all my life. As the first Indian-English woman to hold the Miss Dorset title, I feel proud to represent my heritage and to champion inclusion and cultural diversity within our local community. Performing has always been my passion. I started dancing when I was two, and as I grew up, I fell in love with acting and singing. I’m working hard to build a career in the performing arts, and Miss England feels like the perfect platform to help me grow and inspire others along the way. I’m also passionate about mental wellbeing, sustainability, and supporting small local businesses, such as Lelola Holidays; who’ve kindly sponsored me for the contest. Dorset’s beauty and community spirit inspire me every day, it’s an honour to showcase that to the world.”

When she’s not performing, Jasmine is quite literally reaching new heights, training to earn her Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL), although her dream career is to become a professional actress.

As part of her Beauty with a Purpose mission, Jasmine has already organised a beach clean at Bournemouth Pier, raised over £1,000 for the British Red Cross charity, and joined the launch of the Ethical Kitchen Garden at St Ambrose Church in Westbourne, supporting organic food growing and community connection.

Kelly Levell, Miss England South West Regional Director and founder of We Do Ethical, praised Jasmine’s journey:

“Jasmine has grown so much in confidence over the past year. It’s been amazing to watch. When I first saw her singing online, I knew she had something special. She put her heart into her We Do Ethical Queen Award entry too. From her two beautifully crafted 1950s looks to her creative fashion film, which showcased her acting and storytelling talent. Jasmine is a shining example of passion, creativity and purpose. Dorset should be very proud of her.”

The Miss England semi-final also featured a 1950s-themed Ethical Fashion Round, inspired by Marilyn Monroe, celebrating timeless elegance, natural beauty and sustainable style. The event was broadcast live on The Beauty Queen Channel via Amazon Fire, bringing the glamour and purpose of Miss England to screens nationwide.
