During a deeply moving visit to the Eknoor Charitable Trust in Amritsar India, which was part of the BOPA Humanitarian Tour 2026 , Miss England 2025, Grace Richardson, created a moment that will be remembered for years to come.
The Eknoor Charitable Trust is a charity that provides a safe home for abandoned girls, as well as care and support for the elderly—offering compassion, stability, and hope to those who need it most.

Dr. Rakesh Sachdev is the President of BOPA (British Organisation for People of Asian Origin) in Coventry. He is also the owner of Sachdev & Co Chartered Accountants in Coventry and has been involved in organizing various charitable initiatives and community events both in the UK & India with Grace , Charlotte & care staff at the home
Each year, members of BOPA (British Organisation of People of Asian Origin) visit the charity, bringing vital donations and continued support to help keep the home running. Since 2019, Miss England winners have had the privilege of joining these visits, witnessing first-hand the incredible work being done and connecting with the residents in meaningful ways.
This year, Grace Richardson brought something truly unique to the experience.
In a heartfelt moment, Grace sang for the girls & residents at Eknoor—becoming the first Miss England winner to do so. Her performance filled the home with joy, emotion, and a powerful sense of connection. Music has a universal way of bringing people together, and Grace’s voice created a warm, uplifting atmosphere that resonated with everyone present.
The girls, many of whom have faced unimaginable challenges, were visibly touched by the gesture. Smiles, laughter, and shared emotion filled the room, highlighting the importance of not just providing care, but also creating moments of happiness and human connection.

Reflecting on the experience, Grace said:
“Visiting the Eknoor trust was definitely a highlight of not just my trip to India but of my entire life. They welcomed me with open arms, and shared everything that they had with me. Seeing how selfless these women and girls were has inspired me to do everything that I can to support them back. On the day I shared two songs with them, “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman and “Happy Days / Forget Your Troubles” by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. Music to me is a language and a way to connect with others without even speaking the same language. I hope to connect with Eknoor Charity again and support them as much as I can!”
Miss World England 2025, Charlotte Grant, who accompanied Grace on the visit, also shared her emotional response:
“Visiting the Eknoor charity was such an emotional experience. Watching the children’s faces light up as Grace sang was incredibly moving, I could hardly hold back the tears. She has such a beautiful, powerful voice, and it really touched everyone in the room. Being with the girls was so special, one little girl, just 3 years old, even fell asleep on me, which made the moment feel even more emotional and heartwarming.”

This visit once again highlights the powerful relationship between BOPA and Miss England, and the meaningful impact of their continued collaboration. Together, they are not only supporting incredible causes but also creating unforgettable experiences that inspire compassion, kindness, and global connection.
