Jessica Pliskin’s Beauty With a Purpose Project

By 23rd October 2025 No Comments

At the Miss England Semi-Finals 2025, Jessica Pliskin won the AI Avatar Business Award in collaboration with MirrorMe. This round involved creating a digital advertisement of each contestant that could be used by companies for campaigns such as advertisements, employee training courses, or presentations. The AI avatars could be programmed with any script and could speak any language, providing a faster and more cost-effective alternative to traditional campaigns. This innovation is considered to be at the forefront of the modelling industry.

[Name] believes that AI is transforming every industry, including modelling, and she is proud to be part of this technological evolution rather than avoiding it. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to take part in such a pioneering experience. The round attracted significant media attention and sparked some controversy, as many people expressed concerns about AI potentially replacing models. However, [Name] believes that AI will be used regardless of public opinion, and that it is far better for models to be involved from the beginning—ensuring they have a voice in how it is used and can benefit financially from the technology.

At the same semi-final, [Name] was also crowned Miss Bristol 2025. Having lived in Bristol for the past five years while completing her Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Bristol, she has developed a deep love for the city and hopes to continue living there for many years. She is honoured to represent this beautiful area of England and looks forward to showcasing Bristol through the Miss England “Explore the Nation” round, as well as supporting local fundraisers and charities throughout her Miss England journey.

During her physics studies, [Name] discovered that only 25% of physics graduates are female. Recognising how the lack of female role models in the field can make it seem unattainable for many women, she has taken active steps to inspire future generations. She has delivered talks around the world to encourage women to pursue careers in science, including a TEDx talk at the World Youth Festival in Uzbekistan (2024). In 2025, she represented England and women in science as a Young Leader at the Nasser Fellowship in Egypt, where she visited institutions such as the League of Arab States and the Egyptian Parliament, meeting both the Prime Minister of Egypt and the Head of the League of Arab States. Most recently, she was invited to speak at World Atomic Week 2025, where she presented her research in nuclear physics—an achievement that demonstrated the increasing visibility of women in STEM fields.

For her Miss World Beauty with a Purpose project, Jessica is combining her passion for education and science with her experience in AI through her co-founded company, School Box Africa. The company is built on the belief that education is a right, not a privilege, and aims to increase access to learning for underserved communities. The initial focus is on supporting young people in rural Zambia, where access to quality education is limited. By improving educational opportunities, the project seeks not only to empower individuals but also to strengthen Zambia’s overall economy. School Box Africa is currently working closely with the Government of Zambia to implement this initiative.

Looking to the future, Jessica and her team plan to collaborate with MirrorMe to use AI avatars to develop a standardised digital curriculum across various subjects. This system would monitor each student’s progress and adapt to their educational needs, offering an experience similar to one-on-one tutoring. The curriculum could range from practical courses—such as building water filtration systems or electrical training—to academic subjects like mathematics and science. This initiative will be particularly transformative in Zambia, where many children struggle to access education and overcrowded classrooms often hinder learning. With the Zambian government’s increased investment in education, the collaboration aims to make a lasting impact by improving both quality of life and economic growth.

Jessica is proud to be at the forefront of the AI revolution, using innovation not just to advance technology but to empower and uplift communities around the world.
