Miss England 2012, Charlotte Holmes has barely touched back on home soil after returning from China where she was competing in Miss World, but she was already snapped up to attend the Mauritian Open Air Festival in London this bank holiday August weekend.

Supporting Charlotte and enjoying the fun was 3 Miss England finalists, who were Danielle Latimer, Miss Middlesex (Pictured right), Miss Northampton Nadina Knight (second from left) and Beauty with a Purpose 2011 Winner Harriet Cole (Pictured left) who were delighted to welcome back Charlotte after her travels. They are pictured with the winner of the raffle who won a trip to Mauritius!
Charlotte, who has Mauritian roots and was whisked off to Mauritius to lead the Mauritius Carnival and promote the Shopping Fiesta after being crowned Miss England in June, took to the stage at the festival to talk about her trip to Mauritius as well as joining in the festival fun & drawing the raffle. One lucky person won a trip to Mauritius at La Piroque, the very hotel that Charlotte stayed on her recent visit.
The MOAF marked her first official engagement as Miss England on English soil since being crowned.
Charlotte Holmes interviewed by Riaz from the Community Channel where she talks about her Mauritian roots and her recent travel to Mauritius!

Charlotte, who placed in the top 15 at the recent Miss World final in Ordos China after winning the long jump in the sportsround and making the shortlist in the Top Model round said, "I was really excited to attend the Mauritian festival . My grandmother was born and brought up in Mauritius, so it is important for me to enjoy and celebrate my heritage, and to re-live my recent trip to the beautiful island of Mauritius and revel in some great Mauritian music and cuisine."

Charlotte added, "My Miss England experience so far has been a complete whirlwind. Miss World was absolutely amazing and I am delighted to have placed in the top 15. I met and made some life-long friends there and Ive really enjoyed the Mauritian Festival this weekend and the rest of my year as Miss England."

The Mauritian Open Air Festival is sponsored by MJ Holidays and proceeds from the event will be going to the Anglo Mauritian Disability link, a charity for disabled children, which Charlotte supported during her trip to Mauritius, and the Miss England organisation will continue to support throughout the coming year.

Charlotte, 23, was crowned Miss England at The Athena in Leicester in June this year and will now spend her year judging at Miss England regional qualifying heats across the country in a bid to help find the next girl who will be crowned Miss England. She will also attend a series of official engagements, modelling jobs and participate in pageant training with Front Models and The Front Academy.
