One of my biggest achievements has been to leave behind the countries I have spent the early years of my childhood in, the languages I have learnt, only to enter a new environment and start my studies afresh, in a completely new language. Despite English being my third studied language, I have managed to graduate from school with eleven A*-B, from college with four A-Levels at: A A B C and from Royal Holloway with a 2:1 in Media Arts. I am a competitive individual who has always enjoyed taking part in sports and one of my better sporting achievements has been captaining both my school and college netball teams to the borough finals and being crowned as champions. Finally I consider myself a giving individual and one of my ongoing achievements is donating time, raising money and awareness for numerous charities. In year nine I took part in a sponsored bike ride raising £500 for Cancer Research UK and a further £700 in year ten. At university I was part of our Raising and Giving society where we organised events to raise money for charities like St John’s Ambulance, British Heart Foundation and WaterAid. The charity SU night I organised in my final year raised well in excess of two thousand pounds.

I am a very creative individual and my most prominent talent is that I am an artist. I love painting and drawing and I often find myself at a blank canvas when I need to relax. I have also been told that I am a talented dancer and a photographer. My friends often tease me saying I am jack of many trades and master of none, but I am hoping entering this competition will change that!

I see myself as a very ambitious and very creative character and I have many goals in life. My first ambition is to go on and win this competition and the Miss England competition and represent England on an international level. I hope that this will spark of a career in modelling and presenting, two jobs I am very passionate about. Finally, once I have the capital, it is my dream to create my own clothing line along with my two dear sisters.

I want to enter this competition to win it and go on to represent England on the Miss World platform. I understand what is meant by “Beauty with a Purpose”. I would relish the opportunity of winning such a prestigious title by being a role model not only for ambitious young girls around the country but more specifically for females who are restricted by culture and religion. Coming from an underprivileged background like Afghanistan, I know how it feels to live in conditions with many obstacles in your path. Therefore my first act would be to help those alike, facing obstacles, whether it is those in poverty, those who are ill, those who are troubled, like today’s youth, the elderly or ill treated women. I am an individual who has to believe in what they do and I truly believe what this pageant, in the larger sense stands for: “Beauty with a Purpose”.
