Sarah Davies has been crowned as Miss Leeds 2012

"It was amazing to win, I was over the moon to be in the final ten and wasn't expecting to get any further, the girls there were all gorgeous. When my name was called as the winner I was in complete shock, there is a blur in my memory of when I was crowned it just didn't seem real. The whole day was amazing and ran beautifully, it was strange but I barely had any nerves for the evening which is unusual for me especially seen as I had to speak and explain my talent, I would normally be shaking like a leaf!! I think it's because I wasn't expecting to do so well and had decided just to enjoy the experience because I wouldn't get the chance again, and had considered it an achievement to just get to the final!! 2days later and it still hasn't sunk in properly yet, I can't wait to represent such and amazing city in the miss England final"
Judges - Ashleigh Jayne Miss Harrogate 2010, Simon Hirst from Capital FM and Jordan Fletcher journalists from Leeds City Dweller magazine had a very hard decision on Saturday night.
20 finalists had to be witteled down to a top 10 by taking part in 5 rounds;
the charity fundraising round won by Sarah Story
the popularity round won by Samantha Gill
the eco wear round won by Laura Gregory
the talent round won by Joanna Jarjue
the evening wear round by Terri bedford
and then the judges chose 5 more girls with the highest scores which included
Sarah Davies, Hannah Higgins, Natalie Kisby, Katie Bull and Coby Palmer
The top 10 finalists were then interviewed on stage by our comperes Singer Lauren Green and Rock and Roll Bingo's Mark Walsh and the judges then had to choose our winner.
2nd runner up in 3rd place went to Laura Gregory
1st runner up in 2nd place went to Joanna Jarjue
and Sarah Davies was crowned Miss Leeds 2012
Sarah will go onto the Miss England finals in a few months time! She also won a handmade Tiara by Winky's Jewellery, a bespoke evening dress made by Graziosa, and a spa weekend for two with treatments and lunch for two at thorpe park hotel. A big thank you to the Faversham for holding the event, SA Media for photographing the event, Leon Lewis for DJing, our 3 judges, 2 hosts and event sponsors.

Miss Leeds 2011
Kelsey Sutcliffe is crowned Miss Leeds 2011
For entry into the Miss England National Final in 2011 and be in with a chance of winning a
once in a lifetime opportunity to represent England in Miss World
A panel of judges including Terry George, Joel from the Radio Aire Breakfast Show, Miss Leeds 2010 Katie Farr and Sheena Simpson from our supported charity The Haven deliberated on presentation, confidence and ultimately each contestant's suitability for representing Leeds at the Miss England Final, and to be an ambassador for the city over the coming year.
The organisers of the contest briefed the judges on how each contestant performed in the weeks running up to the show, including their general enthusiasm for the contest and their participation in charity fundraising.
Kelsey independently raised £621.85, contributing to our fundraising total of £5729.35 - more than doubling what was raised last year!
The live final of Miss Leeds was held on Thursday 26th May at the Quilted Llama and Halo
