Name: Joe McCombe
Age: 20
University/College: London College of Fashion
Course Detail: BA Fashion Design Technology Womenswear 3rd year
Background: As a recent Womenswear graduate from the London College of Fashion, my aspirations for the future are to start working for an already well established fashion house that has a history of creating beautiful evening wear, as this is the area of womenswear I feel most at home and comfortable with. By starting out working for an established fashion house, I hope that I will be able to learn the inner workings of the fashion industry, and really find my feet. Hopefully this grounding will enable me to move up through other fashion houses, and evolve as I go. I'd be absolutely thrilled to work for a designers/houses such as Lanvin, Givenchy, Elie Saab, Balmain, Nina Ricci and (my current favourite designer) Zuhair Murad - but I would like to think that after I have gained all the knowledge and skills of a working fashion designer I'd undoubtedly launch my own label - starting small at first, but eventually branching out into handbags, shoes, and a diffusion line. My ultimate goal would be to have my label certified by the chambre syndicale de la haute couture and be able to show during couture fashion week.

Student from University of Huddersfield

Name: Heidi May
Age: 22
University/College: University of Huddersfield
Course Detail: BA Hons Fashion with manufacture, marketing and promotion.

Background: I am a bubbly and ambitious 22 year old student and design entrepreneur raised in the tranquil Norfolk countryside and studying at the University of Huddersfield, where I've spent the last four years learning the trials and tribulations of the fashion industry. Three years into my Fashion Design with Manufacture, Marketing and Promotion degree, and after reaching the top ten shortlist for the Student Design Award at the Design Show Liverpool 2008, I took a year out from education to concentrate on building up my entrepreneurial and design experience. This has benefited me greatly and helped me prepare for my final year of studying and my future ambitions. My design label, ‘Aesthetic Laundry', has been picked up by several Yorkshire boutiques, with demand ever increasing. My ambition? To complete my degree and to become a successful and internationally recognised fashion designer.'

Student from Bournemouth University
Name: Eleanor Herron
Age: 21
University/College: The Arts Institute at Bournemouth
Course Detail: 3rd Year BA Hons Fashion Studies

Background: ‘After uni I am open to options, I am keen to work with people and maybe in a design team. I have so far kept my designing to womenswear but I like to design casual daywear as well as more ‘smart' evening wear. But within that I also like to be a bit experimental and try out new things - regardless of the outcome! I am keen on the eco and organics aspect of fashion and textile, on a personal preference and because I think it's important in the current day and fashion industry.'
