Achievements

Winning Miss Dorset was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had, I loved the day and all of the people I meet. Its such a proud feeling to be part of one of the worlds most prestigious beauty pageants, and to be able go to the final of Miss England. I am extremely self motivated as a person and I love to set targets and meet personal goals. Business is a passion of mine, I have completed two weeks work experience in New Looks press office and through this was able to intern at New Looks 40th birthday. I love to read ,and in 2008 I entered a competition, writing why my favourite author Lisa Clark should win The Teen of Queen book award. My written nomination won me a place to the awards, and I also came first place and won the chance to meet her and Louise Rennison in a limo ride to the ceremony. This was a wonderful chance to get to talk to many of the authors who inspire me with my writing. I am a keen writer and journalism is a hobby, I have written for different publications such as Pluse,The Times and www.lolasland.com . In 2009 I was interviewed by the Guardian on an article about how teenagers spend money and had photos taken in clothes I brought with money I had paid for with my Saturday job. I love making clothes and at school I won the promising designer award two years in a row for the collections I made. I love to let my creative side free and find great pleasure in making clothes. Last year I also got the chance to be interviewed for the Junior Apprentice another experience I really enjoyed as business and marketing where my strongest choice of A level, I future I hope to set up my own business. Last year I also worked as a hair and make up artist for a company SYG media for a rock music video they were producing the results we fabulous and I went on to style hair for another music video SYG later went on to produce. For my GCSE results i achieved all A's to C's, Three A's in total. I have just completed two years at Weymouth college, studying English language, English literature and Business and I also have an AS level in Theatre studies. I am hoping for good results in august so I can go to university in 2011 and study Marketing and Advertising. In September 2010 I plan to go to Weymouth college to study NVQ 2 in beauty therapy so I am able to set up as a mobile and run my own business during my time at university. Beauty therapy has always been an interest of mine because there is so many avenues to explore within the industry. I am dedicated and I want to reach the best possible standard in everything I participate in.

Talents

I love to write! I am constantly writing In a diary, making notes on articles of clothing in magazines and I have a passion for journalism. My choice in A levels have helped me to develop my love for writing even further as you get a wider understanding of why things are written and what they mean. I also love to bake in my spare time, I would love a cupcake business specialising in miniature cupcakes and homemade sweets. I love to customise clothes and make new ones so I know my clothes are special to me. I also love to write poetry as it is a wonderful form of expression. I am studying Beauty Therapy at Weymouth College in September I have always been interested in beauty treatments practising them at home on others and I would love to have a professional qualification in the subject so I am able to work as a mobile. I want to specialise in naturally sourced products when I become mobile. I love to swim and have competed in many swimming competitions I have also won a certificate for swimming a mile. I am an organiser and a keen leader I love to organise events to the last detail and host dinner parties for my friends arranging themed nights producing invitations and decorations that fit in with the theme. I love to make people smile and project a positive attitude in everything I do.

Ambitions

I want to run my own business and venture into different sections of business whether it be clothes, baking or writing books. I hope to do all three. I aim to be independent and successful as I grow older. I have been interested in modelling before and I hope to make opportunities for myself aspiring to be a success in what ever I do. After my year of studying beauty at Weymouth College, I wish to go to uni to study marketing and adverting whilst running a mobile business part time. I am interested in learning French as a language as I think it is an important skill to have and I would like to teach myself this. I would like to write books for teenage girls using the diaries I have kept as a teenager as I think reading is so important for young girls they can relate to experiences in books easily.I want to run workshops for young girls helping improve on self esteem and reaching there potential. I believe there is a huge media influence on the way girls behave now good and bad. And If I can help promote inner and outer beauty for as long as possible. I also want to carry on fundraising for charity I have really enjoyed the whole experience it is so very important to help those who need it most and support important causes. Miss England is not just about beauty its about being a role model and believe if you want something anything you can achieve it all it takes is hard work. I would love to represent England in 2010 and be a genuine role model to younger girls. I hope to promote the miss world slogan Beauty with a purpose to full advantage as my year as Miss Dorset 2010.
