My most recent achievement is winning Miss York 2012. I was overwhelmed and felt a great sense of achievement when I was announced as the winner. I plan to use the title to maximise raising money for chosen charities such as cycstic fibrosis and cancer research UK. I have contributed towards raising money for charities such as The Variety Club, Beauty with a Purpose and the British Heart Foundation, for whom I opened a local store and actively encouraged local civilians to donate. I have achieved academically from a young age by gaining 13 GCSE's between grades A* - B, 3 A levels in Biology, Maths and Theatre Studies and a degree in BA International Business. I put my acquired business skills into practice by starting my own on-line retail business. One of my most memorable and enjoyable achievements was representing Great Britain in the under 19 softball team. The training sessions were intense and hard work however I have a passion for sport so I enjoyed playing on the field and representing my country. I also represented my school in sixth form as the captain of the hockey team as well as playing netball, rounders, cricket and competitive athletics. I was a Miss England Finalist in 2010/11 representing Miss Scarborough & District and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

After completing my degree I utilised my entrepreneurial flair to start my own on-line retail business, selling women's and men's clothing. I enjoy playing musical instruments including the piano and the flute, achieving grades 5 and 8 respectively. I have taken part in various plays and musicals, often playing lead roles as I am a keen singer and enjoy performing. It has aided my confidence development and public speaking skills. I am a talented sportswoman and I represented my University in both netball and hockey teams. I enjoy maths and throughout University I tutored mathematics to students with a range of abilities. I am a part time model and feel modelling is a strong platform to building good self confidence and personal presentation.

My main ambition in life is to build a successful company and be my own boss. I would use my organisation to increase awareness for charities and create employment opportunities helping to improve the current economic climate. In the mean time I aim to work for an International company which will hopefully enable me to travel and give me the ability to experience different corners of the world. I am driven, confident and ambitious and feel that winning Miss England 2012 would be my ultimate achievement. If I won Miss England I would represent the country as a hard working, dedicated and patriotic British citizen.

I want to contribute towards the continually changing positive opinions of beauty pageants. The Miss England competition allows beautiful and talented girls to represent areas of the country that they are most proud of. It is a great opportunity to network and allows girls with similar interests to engage and build relationships with each other. I am excited and eager to be a part of this and wish all of the girls the best of luck.
