Achievements

I am an ambitious and motivated young woman, whose aim in life is to make the most of the opportunities given to me. It is my heart’s desire to fulfil my dreams. I am a hard working and determined person with an outgoing personality. After suffering from meningitis at the age of 3, I became deaf. I went to a mainstream school which has facilities for teaching children with hearing difficulties. I moved on to secondary school where I experienced some difficulties but I was determined not to let those difficulties stop me from getting a good education. However I have never allowed my hearing impairment to prevent me from trying to achieve my goals in life and fulfilling my dreams. My greatest achievement was successfully gaining Art A’s and Graphic Design A*. As well as that I also had Cadbury award for the best achievements in GNVQ Art & Design. 2002 After leaving secondary school I went to Walsall College to study Level 2/3 Beauty Therapist course, and achieved an award, Special Recognition in Higher Education 2005. 2007 I was graduated at the University of Derby Buxton, Degree in Beauty and Spa Service. Living away from home helped me to become independent and confident. I focused very hard to complete my degree to help me get a job and have a future. I gained many experiences from my degree. I had the opportunity to travel to Czech Republic, Malta and Cheltenham and visit the spas there. I spent a week at each of these places which I found interesting because it was different from the spas in the United Kingdom. My first Beauty competition was in 2008 Miss Deaf UK winning Best Evening Gown category. I opened my own business Brindley Beauty Salon in 2008. It was hard work but I found it challenging. In 2009 I entered the Miss Universe GB Beauty Competition and was selected as a finalist which I enjoyed very much. In preparation for the competition I was invited to the local BBC Radio station as a guest. On the radio I talked about the Joshua Foundation Charity and raised money. The Joshua foundation charity is for children diagnosed with terminal cancer. In August 2009 a modelling agency gave me the opportunity to model lingerie underwear for Caprice in Manchester featured by Fashion TV. The experience was amazing. Early this year I entered the Miss Birmingham competition and raised money for Cancer Research. Amongst my many achievements, I won Miss Fresh Photographic Heat 10 and was awarded a place in the Miss England final.

Talents

Dance, Art, Model, Ice Skating, Fitness, Swimming and Cake Decorations

Ambitions

My ambition is to successfully complete NVQ Level 2 Instructing Exercise and Fitness course. I want to be happy in whatever I do in life to be able to support people in whatever way I can. I would love to have my dream job to be a model, Beauty Therapist, Personal Trainer and hopeful to do physiotherapist course in the future working with athlete such as Olympics. I would to travel around the world to experience new countries, people and most of their cultures, exploring different beliefs and ways of life. I believe you can get anything you want out of life if you really do want it. I have the drive and motivation to succeed. I also would love to have opportunity work with charity organisations. We can only give away to others what we have inside ourselves. I hope that people be encouraged by my dreams and ambitions to do well. I want to encourage everyone to believe in themselves. I would love to be given a chance to represent Miss England this year.
