Achievements

I studied ten GCSEs whilst at school in St Albans. From there I went to college in Watford and achieved NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy. I opted for this course as I have always had an interest in beauty, modelling and fashion. Working in a Beauty Salon enabled me to gain therapist qualifications in well known beauty products such as Clarins, Dermalogica and Lycon Wax. During this time I also gained insight into small business and this is why I left to go into business with my father. I am a Director of a small telecoms business that we have recently set up from scratch. I am studying for an NVQ in Business Studies as part of my development in this area. My interest in beauty/fashion/drama has been there my whole life. I attended Jayne Marie School of Performing Arts for 5 years where I won gold medals in various British Arts competitions for acting, singing and dancing. I also took part in many different theatre productions. Despite being busy with work I have also launched my modelling career in the last year or so after I won Oceana’s Next Top Model. From this I modelled a clothing range from John Lewis at a Cinderella Ball to raise money for Cancer research. I have also taken part in many photo shoots in the last twelve months to gather my portfolio. This can be viewed online at Model Mayhem. The pinnacle of my recently established modelling career has been to win Miss Hertfordshire and therefore be entered for Miss England. I am proud that I have come such a long way in such a short space of time. I intend to take the responsibility of Miss Hertfordshire seriously for the next year and hope it will lead to many different opportunities, not just in modelling but in the wider community.

Talents

I have obviously demonstrated over the years my talents for singing/dancing and acting. I have always enjoyed taking part in shows and working as part of a team. However I would say that my biggest talent is my ability to communicate and adapt to any situation. I have an open and friendly nature which allows people to feel comfortable but I am also strong enough to lead and inspire people where necessary. These skills are key to being a model/actress in that you need your audience to like you and look up to you at the same time. These talents are also the reason that I am successful at work too. My energy and enthusiasm are always evident because I pride myself in working hard in everything I set my mind to.

Ambitions

My ambitions are a little complex! I want to make our business a success and I strive to do this every day but I also want to be a successful model or actress. Part of the reason I would like to be a success at Miss England is that I think the public face is vital to being able to have influence and raise money and awareness for charities. As Miss Hertfordshire I plan to raise money for cancer charities as I lost my mother to this when I was a small child. Exactly how I do this is still in the early stages as I only won the title two days ago. I believe my drive and enthusiasm will enable me to do this.
