Achievements

I always try to live life to the full, seizing every oppertunity that comes my way, therefore I have achieved a lot in the last 20 years and I hope the next 20 will bring me many more achivements, such as Miss England! I have always enjoyed learning new things and I have put a lot of hard work into my education, I achieved 10 GCSE\'s all grade B-A*, an AS level in Critical Thinking grade B and 3 A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Geography, all grade A. My A level grades have enabled me to gain a place studying Medicine at Newcastle University, I am currently in my second year, I passed my first year with a Merit, in the top 25% of the year. Outiside of academia, I have a wide range of interests, which have led to numberous achievements. As a child I suffered from a stammer, which left me quite shy and nervous talking around other people, in 2007 I finally overcame my shyness to win 2nd place in the Cramner Award, a public speaking competition, judged by Ann Robinson. In 2008 I was chosen as 1 of 100 people to be a Prime Minister\'s Global Fellow, I travelled to India for 6 weeks and spent time learning about it\'s culture and economy, I was given a 2 week internship as a manigerial trainee at the Delhi headquarters of the company G4S ( Securicor). During my time in India, I also made a short documentary about education and was invited to dinner with the American Ambassador for India and the British High Comminsioner. On my return to the UK I attended a reception at 10 Downing Street to present our findings to Gordon Brown and Ed Balls. In 2008 I entered Miss Student UK and came 2nd runner up in the North East, and in 2009 I was placed in the top 7 in Miss Jamaica UK, I came in the top 30 to be the face of BraStop 2009. I was also recently signed to Tyne Tees Models. During my time at university, I have participated in 2 catwalk shows for the Robbie Anderson Cancer Trust, rasing over £10000 for the charity. I enjoy charity work, as I believe it is crucial to raise awareness and money for good causes and consequently this summer I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Talents

Overall I would say I am a person who is able to do anything I put my mind to, therefore I have never really had a specific \"talent\" but I have always enjoyed trying new things! I have been dancing for many years, I Gained my Grade 5 awards with grade A in Modern and Ballet dance. I continue to have weekly ballet classes. Since a young age I have had a fear of water, at the age of 17 I was able to overcome this and learn to swim, I love swimming and even competed in a swimming gala at school. I now swim 2 times a week. I enjoy all sports and like to keep fit. When I was younger I was a keen athlete and won numerous awards in sprinting, long jump and hurdles. I have played the Cello since I was 8 years old and I have played in many orchestra\'s and achived Merits in my exams, from the Royal College of Music.

Ambitions

As a medical student, my main ambition in life is to be a successful doctor; I would like to spend a couple of years with Medicne Sans Frontiers, a charity who send doctors to parts of the world, that really need medical care. As I have recently found I enjoy competing in beauty pageants and modelling, I would like to expand on this, but not forgetting medicine, therefore I would like to be a doctor in the media, who gives advice on TV programmes, and in magazines, perhaps even having my own medical or health realated TV show! I believe the sky is the limit and I will work my hardest to achive my goals and make my life a success. My main ambition however is to be happy and make other people happy!
