Achievements

I am pleased with what I have achieved so far in my life. I worked hard at school and gained 9 GCSE's, 4 AS-Levels and 3 A-Levels in Mathematics, Accounting and Business Studies. I have always enjoyed studying ‘business’ and as a result decided to do a Business Management degree at Surrey University in Guildford. This was a 3 year course and I gained a Bsc (Hons.) degree. I am now thrilled to be working for an award winning IT hosting company - ‘Memset’ which is based in Guildford. Memset is a dynamic and forward thinking company led by their Manager Director who very much champions the cause of women in IT. They are also very supportive of me in my quest for the Miss England title and have kindly sponsored me in the competition. I work as a Sales Account Manager within the company which I find interesting and challenging as I am very keen to gain experience in the IT industry. I originally entered into the Miss England competition in 2007 after being approached by the modelling company True Model Media who wholeheartedly encouraged me to try for the Miss England competition. I had never done anything like that before and believed I would not have the confidence to go through with it, but I pushed myself and decided to enter initially into the Miss Guildford contest. I was shocked and amazed to win this competition and with renewed confidence, I then went on to compete in the finals of Miss England 2007. After experiencing Miss England that year, I got the bug and wanted to enter again as it was such a great opportunity. I met so many interesting people and had such an exciting time. In 2008 I came runner up in ‘Miss West Sussex’ and 2nd runner up in Miss Modelzed.

Talents

I have enjoyed playing the piano for over 10 years now. I have achieved up to grade 5 and I am currently working towards my grade 5 theory exam and also the grade 6 practical exam. I would love to continue with the grades and my aim is to achieve grade 8. My reason for playing, is more for sheer enjoyment and relaxation rather than to achieve ‘concert pianist’ status! One of my great passions is to keep as fit as I possibly can – this has always been important to me. I am a member of my local gym where I regularly go, I also attend aerobics and dances classes. Much to my family’s amusement, I recently took a course of pole dancing lessons and I have found this to be a fantastic workout as it really helps to build strength and keep me toned. I like to think I am a caring, friendly individual, as well as being easy going, and tolerant. I strive to be positive in my outlook and to see the best in others. I hope I am a good listener and communicator.

Ambitions

I am an ambitious girl and try to get as much out of life as possible. I think you should seize opportunities when they come along and challenge yourself from time to time. Hence my idea to do a sky dive for charity! As I have always had an interest in Business it is my dream to one day to run my own successful company and to be a strong entrepreneurial woman. I would also dearly love to travel and experience more of the world, broaden my horizons and see how other people live. I have entered the Miss England competition as it is such an exciting experience and opportunity and it would be a dream come true to be able to represent my country and achieve the Miss England title. I think being Miss England would give me the chance to help others and I would love to encourage other people to be confident and happy with themselves and to try hard to achieve their goals.
