Starting off with my academic achievements, I completed 10 GCSE\'s at school, and went on to do 4 AS Levels Drama, German, French and Media Studies and 3 A-Levels. With my A-Level results I was lucky enough to receive a place at the University of Salford who specialise in applied language courses, and I went on to complete my degree in French and German with Translation and Interpreting. During my 4 year course, I completed a year abroad living and working in Berlin and Paris for 6 months at a time, as well as submitting a portfolio of work of my time there. In addition to University, I took it upon myself to learn Spanish at night school and gained a Level 2 credit for finishing the 2 year course. I find my academic achievements the most fulfilling as they have stood me in good stead throughout my working career so far and helped me gain experience both in the UK and abroad.
In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and I have been pleased to represent my local Netball team ‘Oldershaw’ for the past 2 years playing a variety of positions including Goal Shooter and Goal Defence. In my first full season with the club I was voted Player\'s Player of the year for 2010/2011. Aside from sports, I have previously competed at International level within the Pageant industry and spent 3 weeks in Alicante, Spain taking part in fashion shows, cultural visits and VIP events as part of the competition. More recently I was even more ecstatic to have been chosen out of over 12,000 girls across the UK to make the final cut for the original line up of \'Take Me Out\' series 3. I was on the show for around 8 weeks before I got myself a date and then featured on the ITV 2 show \'Take Me Out- The Gossip\' with Mark Wright and Zoe Hardman. This was a fantastic experience and has led to lots of exciting things including live PA\'s throughout London, Norwich and Birmingham to name a few. I have previous modelling and TV experience from the early age of 16 and have featured on TV drama\'s such as Waterloo Road and Hollyoaks and TV adverts like Carcraft. Since my time on Take Me Out I have been very busy with lots of new and exciting projects, concentrating mainly on a change of career. Up until April this year I was working for Kellogg\'s as a European Credit Analyst in Finance using my languages, but since then I have decided to expand my passion and love for Pilates by kick starting a career in the Fitness Industry. I have studied the Practice for over 9 years now and have a knowledgeable understanding of how the Practice works. To complete my Level 3 qualification in Mat Based Pilates, I am currently studying my Anatomy and Physiology module and will undertake my final exams this summer. My flexibility now allows me to distribute my time evenly between modelling, promotions, studying and ‘teaching time’ in the BodyCore Pilates Studio where I lead the warm up\'s in classes 4 times a day. Finally I received the best 24th birthday present this year as I was crowned Miss North West 2012 on my birthday after competing in the regional heat in Preston which gave me direct entry into the Miss England Finals in June. All of these achievements in my life so far have made me the person I am today, and I will continue to endeavour in everything I do and carry on making my parents and family proud. |
| Ambitions |
My question to myself the other day was \'Where do I see myself in 5 years’ time?\' And for once I was able to answer my own question. I strive to become even more successful than the previous year and always enjoy taking on new challenges. My ultimate aim is become a healthy role model for young girls in this modern society that we live in, where our lives are ruled by social networking, mobile phones, laptops, computer games, the media, and where young girls everywhere aspire to be \'models\'. With my passion and love for the healthy lifestyle that Pilates promotes, I would love to win Miss England 2012 and set up a Pilates Beauty Queen and Aspiring Models training school combined with supporting \'The Children\'s Society\' Charity which I would choose as the training school\'s \'official\' Charity. The health benefits of Pilates are invaluable but the focus on \'posture\' goes hand in hand with modelling and beauty pageants, so I aim to combine my expertise in the two areas to create a future successful career for myself as a strong minded business woman, and by helping others who aspire to develop their dreams in the modelling and pageant industry at the same time. My opinion is if children don\'t have a good start in life there is not much hope for their future, and if we don\'t tackle issues whilst children are young it might only get worse. Pilates promotes health and wellbeing, prevention of back and neck problems, allows a form of meditation and strengthens core stability linking to posture and a healthy lifestyle. I want to use this to get the young people of today fit and healthy and set them up for a happy and healthy life as well as giving them the chance to be someone. I believe by using my TV experience and my status as Miss North West 2012 within society and hopefully as Miss England 2012, I could communicate my message strongly and more effectively and encourage young people to take part in an active lifestyle as well as achieving their dreams. Incorporating my languages, I would eventually like to open up training schools across Europe promoting the Miss England name and to prove to people that Pageantry is more than just being a pretty face. |
