Various awards were presented at the national finals on Miss England 2008 in London. All contestants competed for the title of Miss England and a number of sponsored awards, the winners of which are shown below.

The 2008 awards winners ;

Miss Essex won the Miss Charity award

by raising over £4,300 !

The Miss England finalists were all invited by the Institute of Cancer to fund raise for the Miss England chosen charity "Walk with Cancer" , a charity which was founded by designer "Eric Way" (pictured) in memory of his father. The winner of this award is named Miss Charity , which was won by Miss Essex Tonya Brown who raised over £4,300 by doing a parachute jump amongst other things! Tonya also reached the final 10 in the Miss Eco girl contest. Over £32,000 was raised for the charity between the Miss England finalists. Here is Tonya collecting her award on stage from Eric Way.

The Great Lengths Stunning Style award is Miss Bury

Miss Bury Zoe Bodnarec is the winner of the Great Lengths stunning style award and will receive hair extensions to the value of £1000 place in the final 20 of Miss England.Here is Zoe pictured collecting her award on stage from Great Lengths .

Miss Maya won the Aesthetics Best Smile award

Miss Maya won the Aesthetics Best smile award and was fast tracked through to the final 20 and won a Aesthetics signature smile package worth £1000. Harry Singh from Aesthetics presented Virgina Morton on stage with the award.

Miss Hertfordshire won the Aguaclara bikini model award

The Aguaclara Best swimwear model was won by Miss Hertfordshire who was fast tracked to the final 20 of Miss England. Laura wins 2 sets of Aguaclara swimwear , 2 full sets of Orhideja lingerie, chance to model Aguaclara at The Paris Mode city show in September 2008, The chance to model for Aguaclara at various trade shows , showroom and press days during the year and a possible commercial photoshoot with Aguaclara swimwear and Orhideja lingerie . All the finalists modelled the Aguaclara Miss England bikini at the final as part of the contest.

Miss Manchester

Lipsy London choose Miss Manchester as Miss Lipsy who was fast tracked through to the final round and receive £500 worth of clothing to spend at www.lipsy.co.uk

MISS TALENT - won by Miss Modelhub

Each of the 50 finalists had the chance to enter Miss Talent by submitting a home made DVD of their talent to the organisers of Miss England before the show. The Miss England office then select the twenty most talented female's , who's DVDs will be shown on the night of the final over dinner. The Miss England office then selected the most talented contestant who was presented with £500 and membership to www.starnow.com sponsors for the fourth year running. The winner of Miss Talent is Miss Modelhub Jade Eden who is pictured above.

Miss Derby won the Fresh Modelesque award and the final of Miss England. Laura also made the final 20 in the talent round with her singing act,the Eco girl top ten and the Pretty Polly Lovely Legs top ten. Here she is pictured in her mums dress at the Eco girl contest, which was worn by her mum in the Miss UK finals in the 1970s !

The Fresh academy choose the "Fresh Modelesque" , who in their opion is the most photogenic contestant in the Miss England 2008 final. Laura won a photoshoot and portfolio with the Fresh Academy.

Miss Eco Girl - Miss Tunbridge Wells

All contestants in Miss England 2008 were asked to consider a method of dressing that shows awareness
and the importance of re-using & recycling where ever possible. A great opportunity to
avoid the high street , go to a charity shop, raid grannies wardrobe or make
something themselves. Miss England Georgia Horsley and the events manager from
www.letsrecycle.com choose Katrina Hodge as Miss Eco girl who won £500 and a place in the final 20, and a place in the 2009 Miss England semi finals.

Miss Public vote winner - Miss Sheffield

Miss Sheffield - Jamie Lee Faulkner won the public vote - Jamie received the most votes between all the national finalists . Jamie now wins a TV presenters course from www.tv-training.co.uk and she also wins a place in the semi finals of Miss England 2009 !

The winner of this award is Miss Newcastle who will have the opportunity to model for Pretty Polly and receive a £250 Pretty Polly Goody Box and fast tracked through to the final 20.
